YEAR 10-2 PUPILS WELCOMED PUPILS FROM YEAR 1 TO THE SCHOOL FAMILY

Younger pupils completed a variety of tasks: in the library they put letters into words, in music they practised rhythms and movements, in the sports hall they had a fun relay race with basketballs, in the canteen they threw ping-pong balls, in the office of the primary school’s head teacher they played a movement game called “Crocodile”, and in the head teacher’s office they solved puzzles. For each successfully solved task, the group earned a paper airplane – a symbol that accompanied them throughout the activity. The aim of the event was to introduce the young people to the school better and to welcome them as members of our school family. After completing all the stations, they gathered in the hall where they danced together. The older students demonstrated their dancing skills and encouraged the first classes to join in. The event culminated with all the aeroplanes taking off at once – a sign that the first classes are now officially members of the school family.

A big thank you to Years 10 and 2 for giving unforgettable and brilliant experiences to the younger pupils!

BEE-KEEPER RELAY

On 23 September 2025, the 20th anniversary event “Mesikäpp teatejoks” – Estonia’s largest charity race for schoolchildren – took place in Tallinn. It takes place every year in different cities across the country and brings together tens of thousands of participants.

Our school traditionally participates in this sports day. This year, students from grades 5 to 9 participated in the run – a total of 104 students. Despite the rainy and windy weather, the children showed true team spirit, joie de vivre and a will to win.

UNDER ONE DAY

On 21 September, the senior group of the dance ensemble Neposedõ performed brilliantly on the stage of the Mere Cultural Centre.
Our dancers presented an elegant performance of “Danza de Mariposas Blancas” (“Dance of the White Butterflies”) as part of the concert “Under One Sky”, dedicated to the Day of National Cultures. The festive event brought together the city’s creative collectives, who presented the audience with a wealth of dances, songs and traditions.

For “Neposedõ”, this performance became a symbolic start of the season in which we look forward to many new encounters, impressions and creative discoveries!

1 SEPTEMBER: KNOWLEDGE DAY AT OUR SCHOOL

On Knowledge Day in our school on 1 September, a festive ceremony was held in the school hall to mark the start of the new academic year. This year, our school family has grown tremendously: three first grades and three tenth grades were opened. One of the first classes, 1A, led by Monika Jurs-Hellamaa, is learning Estonian as a mother tongue. The most memorable moment of the celebration was the anthem performance, where due to a technical malfunction there was no music, but the students of grades 4 to 5 sang the anthem heartily together under the guidance of Inna Rüü. All participants felt a sense of unity and pride in their school.

All the festivities were organised and carried out by Year 12 students. Older pupils helped the first classes to enter the school hall, and prepared a little surprise for them – a performance during the ceremony, which brought joy and laughter to the youngest pupils. Special thanks go to the directors of the act: Artur Janson, Arseni Melnik, Jelizaveta Tostšova and Arseni Pronin; the actors: Lidia Syrtlanova, Christopher Nosach, Kirill Mahhankov and Polina Volkova; the active students: Oskar Roomet, Artemi Melnik, Edgar Zabavin; and those who prepared the presentations and competitions: Arina Titova, Diana Khodakovska and Stefan Nedich.

The school wishes all the class teachers a great start to the school year and good luck: Monika Jurs-Hellamaa (1.A), Tatjana Romanova (1.B), Tatjana Boeva (1.C), Jelena Suits (2.A), Alyona Järv (2.B), Anastassia Šeïn (2.A), Anastassia Šeïn (2.B).C), Alla Vares (3.A), Olesya Ofitserova (3.B), Ella Polovintshuk (3.C), Larissa Rajevskaya (4.A), Jelena Kriis (4.B), Lyubov Syrtlanova (4.C), Inna Rüü (5.A), Jelena Baer-Bader (5.B), Irma Grigoreva (5.C), Jelena Korju (6.A), Irina Papsheva-Kolubaev (6.B), Yulia Orlova (6.C), Olga Puusepp (7.A), Viktoria Podgornõhh (7.B), Mila Chastukhina (7.C), Olga Kalakauskene (8.A), Nadezhda Kingisepp (8.B), Yelena Grebjolkina (8.C), Irina Tankman (9.A), Jelena Vorontsova (9.B), Oleg Zahharov (9.C), Jelena Rupski (10-1), Maia Masing (10-2), Natalia Pavlyuk (10-3), Marina Pissareva (11.A), Gennady Astapov (11.B), Svetlana Minakova (12-1) and Violetta Kuropatkin (12-2).

OUR SCHOOL JOINED THE GREEN SCHOOL PROGRAMME!

We are pleased to announce that our school has joined the international Green School programme. This means that from now on, we will be paying more attention to environmental friendliness and sustainability in all our school activities, from lessons and events to everyday school life.

This concerns the whole school community – students, teachers, staff and parents. Together, we want to create a school environment where nature is valued and sustainable use of the environment prevails.

The first steps have already been taken! This Friday was World Clean Up Day, when our PE teachers took a small but important initiative – they cleaned up our school grounds with their students. It was a symbolic and inspiring start to our green journey, and we hope that other classes and the whole school community will soon join us in making our school an even greener and friendlier place for all. A big thank you to our PE teacher Julia Õismaa for the photo !
